What will this school do for me? will provide the Information, Training, Background Checks, Tuberculosis Testing and Classroom Training needed and required to successfully get a job in the home care field. If you get at least 90% on your attendance and tests, we will guarantee you a job upon graduation.


What does a Professional Caregiver do?

Also known as Home Care Aides, Personal Care Aides and Care Aides, Caregivers help people with disabilities, chronic illness, or cognitive impairment with activities of daily living. Activities of Daily Living are: Bathing/Grooming, Meal Preparation, Errands and Shopping, Physical Assistance, Light Housekeeping and Medication Reminders. They often help older adults who college term paper need assistance with going about their lives and sometimes younger adults that have a disability or are recovering from an injury or surgery.


What is the Work Environment?

They typically work wherever the care recipient lives, such as; homes, group homes, hospitals, skilled nursing centers and day services programs.


How to Become a Caregiver?

California requires a registration on a state website, training, a Tuberculosis test and a fingerprinted background check. The industry requires some level of experience caring for othersĀ  and the ability to safely handle someone that needs assistance.



The median wage for caregivers in California is 10.00 to 15.00 per hour.


Job Outlook?

Employment for caregivers is projected to grow over 35 percent from 2015 to 2016, much faster than the average for all occupations. As the baby-boom population ages and the elderly population grows, demand for the services of home health aides to provide assistance will continue to increase.
